Graced with soft waves of watercolor, driftwood detailing and an effortlessly elegant tablescape fit for any seaside soiree, this shoot designed and styled by Alex Meyer Events is what my wedding dreams are made of. Inspired by Walt Whitman’s quote “in you I wrap a thousand onward years” it embodies an endless love, wrapped in sooo much pretty. Get lost in all the lovely that Krista A. Jones snapped up here.
From Alex Meyer Events… The inspiration for the shoot came from the Walt Whitman quote “in you I wrap a thousand onward years.” The quote is the essence of marriage! In you I wrap my whole future. The endlessness of the sea and the endless possibilities for a marriage paired so beautifully with the Whitman quote that I knew I wanted a shoot that had all three elements. Victoria from Design House of Moira created stunning art pieces of the quote for us to use throughout the shoot that ended up being one of my favorite parts.
The color palette was inspired by the softness of the sea so we used wood, white, green, and sea blues to complement the location. We used textures like the sheer runner, cotton rope, and driftwood details to bring dimension to a simpler palette. I really wanted the shoot to be an example of décor that is inspired by the sea without being overtly nautical. I wanted to use the “wrap” motif throughout the details, and the wonderful vendor team carried that theme throughout the cake, garlands, paper elements, glassware, rope detailing, and even the bride’s hair and makeup.
Everything was natural, textural, and romantic and embodied the quote so beautifully!
