Spring might be a good nine months away, but the second I locked eyes with this Brooklyn Botanic Garden wedding I’ve been hoping and praying it’d show up a wee bit sooner. With trees in all their fully bloomed splendor, there’s never been a more perfect setting to swap vows, and Rebecca Yale Photography documented the day in gorgeous fashion. Have a peek right here!
From Rebecca Yale Photography… Kelsey and Noah’s Spring wedding in the Brooklyn Botanical gardens was a true celebration of Spring and love! After a terrible winter in New York City we felt Spring would never come, but on the day of Kelsey and Noah’s wedding the skies cleared, the sun shined on the newly blossomed cherry blossoms and we were given a perfect Spring day. Kelsey and Noah were married under the shade of a beautiful tree in a meadow in the gardens and then celebrated with their friends and family in the Palm House at Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. The afternoon felt like a joyous garden party and they let the beauty of the gardens and the flowers take center stage, picking up the light pink of the cherry blossoms throughout the day in the details from the bride’s shoes to the groom’s tie.
Light poured in from the glass roof of the palm house giving the laser cut place cards and menus a beautiful dimensionality as it created shadows on the white table cloths. The guests were serenaded by a 3-piece band with oldies, each song hand chosen by Kelsey. Perfectly fitting the garden party motif, the bride and groom gave cans of seeds as a thank you to their guests before making a grand exit through a cascade of yellow and pink rose petals to a vintage yellow taxi.
It was so wonderful to capture genuine moments of love and joy between Kelsey and Noah. I knew they would be so much fun to photograph when we first met and she told me- “We both love the color green, spicy food, and, of course, each other.” Kelsey even had inscribed in Noah’s ring “I love you most” one of my favorite details of the day!
