From the bride… I’m writing this from a remote island in East Indonesia in the middle of nowhere, miles away from my husband after being married for only five weeks. I’m due to come home today and thought this is the perfect opportunity to write this long overdue post. We only had three months to prep our wedding. We expected nothing and had prepared ourselves for the worst. The only thing we were sure of was that we wanted to be married and that was all that matterd. The most unforgettable moment on the day was when our Kombi wedding car broke down in the middle of the highway and all the bridesmaids and I arrived at the ceremony venue 45 minutes late. Surprisingly the whole scene did not break me at all. I was calm throughout and I knew deep in my heart that I will marry Patrick on this fine day and this was just a small bump on the road. I walked down the aisle to Jack Johnson’s Angel and I could still remember very dearly all the feelings I had when I walked my way to Patrick. Everyone and everything else was blurry. Patrick’s eyes and smiles were the only things I held on to. It was all very personal and emotional for me. We couldn’t have picked a better reception venue than Little Creatures Brewery as both of us are big fans of their beers. We also love the rustic romantic feeling that the place offers and for Patrick it was a definite long yes as soon as we were shown the way to the open tap bar. Thanks to Tali from Twigged flowers by Tali and Sarah from Heart Strings and Pretty Things who worked beyond their ways to create every single details that I had in mind into a such dreamy day. From my flower crown to each and every table centrepieces to the hanging jars, combined with our DIY items, all these details were put together with love. Every corner I looked somehow spoke of our true personalities. A little tip for all the bride-to-be: during prep period just try and do your best, keep the positive vibe running all the time, be grateful on every small achievement, and remain patient on every trials, in the end, you are marrying the love of your life and that’s what it should only be about.
