Breezy Seaside Engagement Session

For a couple that didn't let the distance of the ocean keep them apart, we think this seaside engagement shoot at Point Roberts is particularly fitting. Besides, there's simply nothing like the expansive beauty of the Pacific Northwest, and thanks to the photographic prowess of Luke Liable, we get to bask in the love and scenery  from our arm (or office) chairs. So enjoy the breeze, and don't miss the full gallery.

From the Bride-To-Be: We actually met 10 years ago in high school! Brenton is Australian and his high school rugby team came to stay with our high school rugby team. Obviously all of the girls in the school went crazy for boys with accents! Brenton stayed with one of my friends so we saw each other frequently throughout the week his team was in town! The night before the entire team left someone from our school threw a party - on a school night so I of course wasn't allowed to go. My girlfriends weren't pleased I wasn't going to be there so we devised a plan - the girls would wait in their car half a block away from my house at 11pm and I would sneak out the bedroom window. Needless to say it worked and we had our first kiss! ha! We exchanged email addresses and went our separate ways.

We ended up staying in each other lives for 5 years because a few of his high school friends ended up going to UVic. Although we didn't end up ever seeing each other we did have a huge group of mutual friends. After I was finished university I decided to go back packing across Australia with a girlfriend. I arrived in Sydney an hour before her (why we were on separate flights, I don't remember). I waited and waited and she never showed up - it turns out her flight was cancelled due to snow in Vancouver. I didn't want to stay in Kings Cross by myself for the first few nights so I decided to call Brenton. He picked me up half an hour later and let me stay at his apartment. We've been together since! I stayed in Australia for nearly 3 years and he moved back to Canada with me in May 2011. Funny how things work out!
