Pastel Art Deco Wedding Inspiration

What’s better than a bit of classy art deco inspiration? Deco splashed in an array of pastels, of course! Shannon Gail Weddings and Events stepped outside the traditional black and gold for an unexpected, but refreshing style. From a colorful table dressed in BBJ Linen to the sweet detailing on the cakes by Elysia Root Cakes, the darling Cristina G Photography snapped up every inch right here.

From Shannon Gail Weddings and EventsOur approach to the shoot was to fuse the bold deco aesthetic that was made so popular with Gatsby, with an unexpected soft spring palette rather than the traditional black and gold that you see. The result was an editorial shoot that was not only on trend but also current and in season. We put together an absolute dream team of Chicago favorites and used the backdrop of the stunning Chicago History Museum as our inspiration. We were able to get a few show stopping pieces from our friends at Maria Elena, Hayley Paige, and Lazaro which brought the glam level of a few notches without question, and we are so thankful! The details were amazing – look out for golden eggs which we painted ourselves, sugar kumquats on the cake (kumquats are just so adorably sweet) and a vintage camera collection! Editorial shoots truly allow us as vendors to take artistic license and showcase a bit more whimsy and magnetic detail than when we are working with a client, and we hope this shoot inspires Brides to take a few chances and not be afraid to play with mixtures of various trends and colors!
