Rustic Barn Wedding at the Sydney Polo Club
There's beauty in simplicity, and this relaxed and rustic barn wedding is absolutely brimming with it. Thanks to a little help from the bride's friends like the florist at A Mother's Niche Styling, Makeup By Kaylee, and a gorgeous cake from Just Cake It, the whole event filled every rustic desire and then some. Make sure to take a look at the gallery of loveliness from Dan Au Photography for more inspiration.
From the Bride... The most important theme we wanted to follow on our wedding day, was us! Cain and I never wanted a traditional wedding; we tried to make the day reflect us as a couple, the things we love and the people that surround us as much as we could. We wanted a relaxed, country feel with some simple beauty and lots of fun!
When we first looked at The Sydney Polo Club, we fell in love with the Sunnybrook Barn. Such a picturesque, rustic, country feel about the entire property and it truly was the perfect choice for our wedding.
Our hair was so beautifully styled by a friend and hairdresser, Lauren Pareezer who did all the bridesmaids, flowergirls and mother of the bride on her own! And the make-up was attended to by another beautiful friend and make-up artist Kaylee from Make-Up By Kaylee. I wanted a natural look for both myself and the bridesmaids and Kaylee did such a wonderful job.
Another good friend and colleague, Jess from A Mother’s Niche, put all our bouquets together and they were the most stunning bouquets I’ve ever seen! Jess also took care of all the styling for both the ceremony and the reception…it was all perfect! The chandelier hanging in the tree, the handmade arbor, the vintage lounge and chairs; it all set a perfect scene.
The bridesmaids, flower girls and pageboy walked down the aisle to ‘make the most’ by Troy Cassar-Daley; one of our favorite country singers. This was also special to us as Cain proposed to this song playing in the Aussie outback. Our guests sat on hay bails instead of the traditional white chairs to keep with the country theme.
Cain and I wrote our own vows and chose not to share them with each other until we said them during the ceremony. This was such a surreal and magical moment in time. Emotional is an understatement and from what I’m told many of our guests were reaching for their tissues too.
Our photos were taken on the grounds of The Sydney Polo Club, with Dan and Ed from Dan Au Photography. Dan let us run free -- literally! We ran across fields, jumped in the air and laughed and joked with our bridal party. Dan and Ed made us feel comfortable and they really captured the emotion and fun that we experienced throughout the day.
Our first dance as husband and wife we danced to ‘hey pretty girl’ by Kip Moore. The song is filled with so many words that we relate to our life and our unique love story.
With hair disheveled and no make-up left from all the dancing, Cain and I left and stayed at the Sebel Resort and Spa Windsor. Truly the most wonderful day of our lives!
