Happy, happy 4th , m’dears! By now you’re probably prepping for a day of sparklers and grillouts, but if you’re in need of a little last-minute Americana inspiration we’ve got just the ticket. Thanks to Jennifer Gee and Sarah Del Buono we’re diving into red, white and blue party ideas you can pull off in a cinch. So what are you waiting for? Get started right here.
From Jennifer Gee… Who doesn’t have a party to throw or attend on Independence Day? With the nation’s birthday steadily approaching, it only seemed fitting to style an editorial shoot with my favorite photographer, Sarah Del Buono of Made In March.
Unlike many other 4th of July parties, I wanted this styled shoot to remain chic with touches of vintage and natural elements. The setting sun provided the perfect stage for our session as it gave us great natural light to highlight this table scape. The mood was heightened with unique vintage plates that my Mother found while perusing a local antique shop here in Jamestown. Sea grass and touches of bamboo added some natural elements while giving a nice contrast to the trendy, oversized mercury mason jars.
The drink station came together beautifully draped in printed linen table cloths, as decorative summer elements such as lanterns, sea glass and buoys anchored and adorned the table. To add some extra flare (and keep the kid’s busy throughout the day!) we added a suitcase full of goodies that really helped enhance the look. Finally, what better way to celebrate our patriotism than with gold spray painted sparklers? The perfect finishing touch!
