Woodland Romance Wedding Inspiration

As much as the coastal views of Annapolis are strikingly beautiful, the woodlands have a loveliness all of their own. Hello Love Events and Natalie Franke brought that loveliness to life in this romance-filled wedding goodness. Organic lettering from Meant To Be Calligraphy pairing so sweetly with EightTreeStreet‘s wild florals, elegant full length gowns from Ava Laurenne Bride and so much more. From Hello Love EventsWhen I reached out to Natalie Franke Photography to collaborate on a woodland romance wedding styled shoot in Annapolis, MD – I was pretty nervous! I had been dreaming of this shoot coming to life for months and knew that she was one of the few photographers who would do it justice. Some people may not put ‘Annapolis’ and ‘Woodland’ together when thinking of wedding themes, but what many people do not know about Annapolis is that it is definitely NOT just about boats, boats, and more boats. Although the charming city does lay way to some BEAUTIFUL spaces for that type of theme – hiding in the rough are some AMAZING natural environments such as this private residence lent to us by a friend. The dreary rain-threatening day was SO nice to us with lighting and provided the perfect backdrop for this shoot.

This shoot was inspired by woodland nymphs and their idea of a romantic wedding – very classy while keeping connected with the beauty provided by good ole mother nature. The main elements included were the BEAUTIFUL alternative wreath bouquets, the gorgeous head-pieces, and the breathtaking floral ‘table runner’. We also wanted to make a statement with our non-traditional sweet options to include the sweet pie bar and naked cake. Not every couple wants the traditional cake and it’s okay to step out of the box and try something new! Of course we wanted to stray away from the traditional print invitations and go with the more natural hand-written calligraphy for all of the stationery pieces and they complement the naturalistic feel for the shoot.

For the furniture, we also went went with a bit more of a vintage feel with a touch of rustic – they complemented each other well! There was also an absolutely beautiful beach located nearby the venue so we grabbed some shots of our bride in a different dress, as well. We just couldn’t resist!
