Hi lovelies! Caitlin from Style Within Reach here. Today I’m sharing all my favorite spots in Charleston, South Carolina and showing you how to plan the perfect mini-moon (or even honeymoon!) in this charming locale. My guy and I recently spent a long weekend in the Holy City to relax in the months leading up to our Big Day and it was absolute bliss.
STAY | If you’re looking for a splurge the Zero George Street hotel is the spot to be at. Lynn Easton of Easton Events is the proprietor and she’s made sure every little detail is picture perfect – I may have gone Instagram crazy during my stay! It’s nestled on a quiet street downtown and is walking distance from many of the sites, restaurants and shopping. We were big fans of their breakfast, picturesque courtyards, showers and wine + cheese hour! It’s utterly romantic, historic and would make a great homebase for a Charleston honeymoon. Other spots to check out: Charleston Place and Vendue Inn.
EAT + DRINK | Charleston is a food lover’s dream. Some of our favorite date spots to dine are HUSK, Bowen’s Island for fresh seafood, Butcher & Bee for a takeaway lunch, The Gin Joint for cocktails, Sugar Bakeshop for cupcakes.
ART + CULTURE | There is a bustling art scene in Charleston – check out many of the galleries in the French Quarter or set up a time to drop by Redux Contemporary Art Center to check out new work by Lulie Wallace + Teil Duncan. Stop by Stems for fresh flowers and to check out frequent art exhibits. Take a dip in the pool at Mixson Bath & Racquet Club and have lunch at their market.
DO | Explore the historic downtown area, hit the beach (Sullivan’s Island is our favorite – and stop by The Obstinate Daughter for oysters and bubbly after), take a sunset sailboat tour, rent bikes or kayaks, take a walk over the iconic Ravenel Bridget, pick up picnic essentials at Caviar + Bananas and have dinner on the waterfront park. And most of all, enjoy every minute with your sweetie. Happy Honeymooning!
