Playing off their adorable namesake – Mr. and Mrs. Kool – Kaitlin and Jon set out to plan a wedding with whimsy and spunk and plenty of “kool” design moments to boot. With L Elizabeth Events by their side and Adonye Jaja behind the camera, they pulled off a day that’s got FUN written all over it – Kool-Aid stand included. Have a looksy in the gallery and don’t miss the film from Cinepro Studios.

They had a wedding full of details, love and whimsy. From the chevron, polka dotted and denim linen choices to the hand made Kool-aid stand. I could not get enough of this wedding and this family. The ceremony was held in the field along side of the property with a wood altar Kaitlin’s uncle made just for the occasion. The guests were brought down to the ceremony area on “Kool Karts” and they sat on hay bales covered in leather blankets with fresh florals running beside the aisles. Kaitlin and her dad were driven down to the ceremony in a meticulously kept 52’ Ford. The bridesmaids were adorable in their mismatched dresses with matching necklaces from her sister’s store, Kute n’ Klever Jewelry. Jon’s father, a pastor, officiated the wedding beautifully and full of reverence.
Cocktails were served in the open courtyard and the Kool-aid stand was quite the hit. The sign welcoming everyone in simply, Love is Kool. The Dessert Stand made gourmet popcorn stand, for guests to nibble on, then turned the vintage dresser it into a dessert lover’s extravaganza later in the evening.
The reception was held in the neighboring barn. The flowing white fabric on one wall gave lots of light and femininity to the room, as did the vintage chairs while the florals and differing table sizes and styles, with lots of color and shapes, brought whimsy and character in. Kaitlin’s dad owns a leading tape company so their favors where custom monogrammed rolls of tape. Everyone loved them.
The best part of the wedding and the planning though was the families and their spirit of love, respect and their “go for it” attitudes. They were open to every idea and kept the true meaning of a wedding celebration first in their minds. Congratulations to Jon and Kaitlin Kool. You do SO embody your namesake.
From The Bride…Looking back on my wedding day, I still cannot believe that it actually happened. It was absolutely perfect, from every moment to every detail. I began the day at 8 a.m., although I was awake half the night before. We began the drive from the hotel to my aunt and uncle’s ranch (where the wedding was being held) and I remember looking out the window at the beautiful mountain range and clear blue skies. I vividly remember saying a short prayer, “Lord, please hold off the rain today, PLEASE!” The forecast had a 30% chance from 11 a.m. until about 7 p.m., and I was so nervous that it was going to drastically down pour during the ceremony, which was outside. Arriving at my uncle’s house in Evergreen, I met my wonderful hair stylist-Hayley Johnson and make-up artist-Heather Baker. My bridesmaids soon began to arrive shortly after and the getting ready process began. That was the first hint of nerves I felt through my body. Then 10 a.m., our spectacular videographer- Dusty Jenkins, arrived. It all started to feel more real. My hair was done, and I was about to get my make-up on. All of a sudden it was noon and my stomach began to flip-flop.
Before I knew it I was walking back down the aisle with my new husband. We ate, we danced, we sang, and we cried some more. We had the best wedding ever. Our dinner was absolutely wonderful-All Love Catering; I don’t think a single person left hungry. We could not have had the best wedding ever if it wasn’t for every single person involved. Our vendors made it so wonderful and stress-free. Our guests brought so much joy and excitement, and our families were so supportive and loving throughout the whole day. I truly had THE Kool-est wedding ever, and I think my pictures can bring this story to life; to show the love that was present on that day – September 7, 2013 when we became Mr. & Mrs. Kool.
