There are sooo many reasons to love this beach soiree. For starters, how about that bouquet packed with nearly three dozen lush white peonies? It’s a perfect match for the Bride’s mesmerizing beauty. But what I love most is the laid back vibe in Dave Robbins‘ photos that drew me in right away. Planned to perfection by Sofia Crokos Events, you can peruse every last detail right here and don’t miss the film from Living Cinema!
From Dave Robbins Photography… Elizabeth and Efrem met by chance, at a birthday party. The birthday party was at an indoor swimming pool, at a hotel in the middle of Times Square, and was in honor of a beautiful young actress, Toni. Efrem had only met Toni several nights prior at another party, and she insisted he attend. Elizabeth had met Toni briefly at several auditions and couldn’t resist her warm smile and friendliness when she too was invited.
Efrem of course wouldn’t turn down an invitation from a beautiful girl to be in his a bathing suit… After a couple of hours of partying and not knowing anyone, Efrem found himself resting on the couch in the hotel lobby.
After a few zzz’s, he was woken by Elizabeth walking through the door with a friend and immediately engaged her in conversation. Efrem bought Elizabeth a glass of champagne. Elizabeth did not bring her bathing suit, thinking that no one would actually go in the pool. She was charmed by Efrem’s outgoing nature and funny personality as he stood there in his bathing suit, at a bar. Little did they know they had met the person that would eventually marry and start happy and blissful life together.
From the Bride & Groom… From the day that we became engaged, we knew that we wanted our wedding to be like a vacation. We wanted a laid back, beachy, and yet classy vibe. It was also important for us to spend quality time with our guests and we knew we would get that if we did it out of town. So, why not do it in paradise? We wanted to have it somewhere in the Caribbean, since it’s a fairly short flight from the East Coast. We chose Turks & Caicos because of its’ incredible beaches. Also, it’s an island that has amazing hotels/restaurants, but it isn’t too commercial or overpopulated.
The Gansevoort Hotel and The Mothershouse Villa in Turks & Caicos were perfect locations for our wedding weekend. It combined both of our styles and the overall feeling we wanted for our wedding. It was modern, classy, and at the same time very beachy and breezy. No suits or long ball gowns, but feet in the sand and freedom!
We had our ceremony on the beach at the private villa with all their guests on cushioned benches and ottomans surrounding them, like theater in the round. The reception was at the hotel. Dinner was outside under the palm trees and stars, surrounding the infinity pool. It was magical. And then there was a big dance party all night! Luckily, we got our very talented friends to DJ and play at our wedding too. Our DJ was Mia Moretti and Caitlin Moe was on the electric violin rocking out.
