Black + Gold Artwork Inspired Wedding Details
Simply put, if it's gilded, I love it. And if it's from Lindsay Letters? I have to have it. Her gorgeous lettering and prints always put a smile on my face. So when Gibson Events sent over this shoot inspired by her artwork, I immediately fell in love. From gold leaf treats to clean lines mixed with organic florals from Poppy Lane Design, it's modern wedding goodness with a twist of chic. Head over to the gallery from Holli B Photography to see it all!
From Gibson Events… It's amazing what a splash of gold metallic can do. Leave it to Lindsay Letters to find a way to make simplicity striking in her new collection of black and white prints and canvases, all readily available and freshly added to her online boutique this month. I don't know about you, but there's something so chic about infusing a mixture of clean lines and eclectic unpredictability, and that's exactly what we set out to create for this shoot.
Inspired by young love, sweet romance, and the untraditional, we dreamt up a simple reception centered around the bride and groom, leaving room to focus on what matters most: their love for one another. And of course, Lindsay's stunning artwork. Her pieces were undoubtedly the star of the show and we had such a wonderful time constructing a composited collection of prettiness for our bookshelf backdrop. We've put together a straightforward how-to for creating a similarly effortless look in your own home, and now all that's left is for you to head over to Lindsay's shop to purchase a few things for yourself.
Other additional elements for the day included fondue for two (complete with edible gold leaf treats), floral clad ladders, and a gallery wall set up by the bride herself, in a tulle skirt no less. We kept the color scheme light and natural, and chose to dress our couple in outfits that left room for the background to truly shine. Our bride wore a short, sheer white dress complete with crocodile embossed booties that had us swooning from the second we laid eyes on them (Rag + Bone can do no wrong in our books). Our groom was dashing in his linen jeans and knit waistcoat, achieving a perfected look of effortless cool.

Designing Your Bookshelves: A How To For The Distinguished Decorator
1. Pick a starting point. a piece you love, and go from there. big or small, this is the piece that holds it all together. From this comes your color scheme, mood, and feel.
2. Multiples. Adding multiples of items (in this case, glasses and cake stands) brings unity to keep from looking disheveled and unintentional.
3. Alternate useful things and pretty things. The shelf should serve as both a space for lovely things as well as a functional space to hold things you love and use.
4. Include items with meaning. Family photo, a cool souvenir from a past trip. Things that bring back good memories and make you happy.
5. Add little bits of life. Including flowers, air plants, and succulents is beautiful for your eye AND for the air.
