Charming Lakeside Engagement
Probably my favorite part of this job is reading the stories behind the beautiful pictures we see. For Karla and Clement, some of their fondest memories are by the water, so they decided to incorporate it into the lovely engagement photos from Gucio Photography we see here today. From the Bride to Be: As for the thoughts of the engagement session …. I’ve always loved water. Whether it’s being by the sea or scuba diving or playing with watercolors or even the symbolic meanings of water I always just feel connected by it. One time, Clement and I went on a date to go row boating and it was just a surreal experience being out in nature and it just felt like it was just the two of us and the world. Clement is a man of few words, so maybe because it was just the two of us, I thought he had the confidence to talk more while we were on the boat. He shouted on top of his lungs that he loved me, and we just laughed and giggled over it and thought it was just the sweetest, cheesiest thing ever. I just knew that one day we would have to incorporate the rowboat somehow for our engagement photos.
As a calligrapher, painter and designer, I really wanted to incorporate watercolor into our save the date suite. Using lots of water and pale turquoise hues, I came up with a watercolor suite that resembled the two of us. Just like the sea where it can be so calm one second, and completely rocky at times, Clement and I have gone through so much in our relationship but yet we draw strength from it. Instead of clashing waves, we move together and grow together.
I’ve always been in love with the look of film since I was a young child and knew that’s what I wanted for our engagement photos. Kasia and Anna were absolutely amazing to work with and they really made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. Every picture was a well-thought-out masterpiece without being rushed. We thoroughly enjoyed the process. We love how they were able to help us exude emotion and it could be seen in the photos. It was a truly memorable experience.
