Cape Cod and gorgeous coastal weddings go hand in hand, yet I am always shocked right out of my seat when I see a beach chic beauty like this one at the Wychmere Beach Club. With the sweet DIY details under that beautiful Sperry Tent, it’s picture perfect to say the least. And from the looks at the images sitting in this gallery from Zev Fisher Photography, perfect doesn’t even do it justice.

Growing up on the Cape in Harwich Port made deciding on a perfect setting for our day was easy. Jay and his family summer in Harwich so it is near and dear to his heart as well. We both grew up going to Wychmere Beach Club with our families and have some of our best memories from our summers there. Ultimately, it’s where we first met! It made so much sense to have our reception there. After exchanging vows in Holy Trinity Church in West Harwich we drove off in an old-school Woody Jeep Wagoneer convertible (chauffeured by Uncle Bill) to take pictures at the overlook. We loved that drive! It was the perfect way to have a mintute to enjoy the day so far. Zev Fisher our photographer got a great shot of all the bridesmaids and myself in the back. Its one of my favorite shots of the day. At cocktail hour we had the talented Brian Scully preform some acoustic classics. He made our day. My dress (Allure Bridal) was originally strapless and we worked closely with an amazing seamstress, Karen White of Brewster, to make the hand-sewn stitched lace overlay cap sleeves.
We kept the decor somewhat simple since the scenery and overall property on Wychmere is stunning in itself. Nautical flares accented the simplicity. The DIY compass escort cards were a big hit! We tied the names to burlap with navy and white twine. We fell in love with the blue mason jars and lanterns as centerpieces. It set the mood for our guests just the way we had hoped. The table names were also a DIY project. I am lucky to have very talented and artistic mother and sister. The tables were all named after places that mean a lot to Jay and I; places that we’ve been and have wonderful memories at. On the guestbook table we had a view of generation pictures as well. It was so fun to see our parents and grandparents on their wedding days. It’s always fun to reminiscence and compare notes! We could not have asked for a better day. The weather cooperated perfectly with mild temperature, hardly any wind, and the bluebird day came to an end with a completely majestic cotton candy sunset. The backdrop was breathtaking and we couldn’t have asked for more. The flowers (by New England Gardens) added a bit of romance to the overall look and blended perfectly with the seaglass bridesmaid dresses (by Belsoie). My sister and MOH stood out with a navy sash to match the boys navy suits. The staff at Wychmere was outstanding. We couldn’t have been happier with our coordinator, Karen Rood. She became like family and made our experience unforgettable.
Throughout the planning process we referred to the wedding as a party (“Can you make it to our party??”) and that was the vibe we wanted to spread; everyone have a good time, enjoy each others company, join in on the dance party, and help us celebrate our brand new life together! Our band Night Rhythm (Monica & Brian) keep the dance floor packed all night long. It was definitely a day Jay and I will never forget and we have some many people to thank for that.
