Growing up, horses were my everything, so this Saratoga wedding at Fasig-Tipton makes me happier than I can even explain. With its subtle and stylish nods to the Bride and her family’s love for the horses and the area, every beautiful image by Sj2 Photography paints the picture of a day that was not only pretty but wonderfully personal too. From Sj2 Photography…I am so excited to share this fabulous wedding that took place at a horse stable in Saratoga Springs, New York. The location is unique all on it’s own since it just started being used for wedding venues. The Bride was raised around horses and her family race their horses at the near by horse track. The location had a lot of meaning to the bride. She tied it all together with DIY painted bottles and hand painted table numbers. She also used horse shoes as her escort cards to continue in the theme of the stable. The ceremony took place outside in front of a beautiful tree right in the middle of the stables and the reception followed a few short steps away under a wood pavilion that is actually used to sell thoroughbred horses. The night continued with lots of dancing including a choreographed routine by the bride and groom. It was a day filled with love, DIY touches, laughter and lots of dancing.
From The Bride…Our wedding day went just as I had imagined and hoped. My husband and I had a short engagement (about 7 months), so getting all of the little details together was an exciting and fun chaos. As an only child, my parents and I are very close so organizing pieces for the wedding was a very fun and crafty way to bring my mother and I back together after being away from home for a long time. During visits at home, you would find my mother and I cleaning and painting horseshoes, printing name plates, and spray painting bottles. The venue we chose holds such significance for my family and I as I grew up in a Thoroughbred race horse training family. After spending every summer at Saratoga racecourse as a child, it was very special to be married at the beautiful Fasig-Tipton auction grounds. Planning our wedding was a very unique and fun experience thanks to my wonderful husband, our families, and all of the great people I met along the way. Throughout the night of our wedding, we kept hearing from the venue staff that we had one of the most lively weddings they had attended to date, with a choreographed country/hip hop first dance and guests packing the dance floor from start to finish. All in all, it was a perfect day and I could not have asked for more.
