From Sapphire Events…Katie and JT are an adorable couple from Alabama that planned their New Orleans wedding for last December. JT called us to coordinate their wedding at one of our favorite venues, Race and Religious, and help them tie up last-minute details for this destination event. Katie and JT prepared for the big day in the respective houses on the property, and Maile Lani captured their first look on the grounds of this beautiful venue. From the moment I met them, I could see how head-over-heels in love they are for each other!

This venue is one of my all-time favorites as a matrimonial backdrop. The grounds are quintessential New Orleans – exposed brick, rich architectural details, hidden nooks and aged mantles over crumbling stone fireplaces. Katie and JT’s celebration exemplified the classic elegance that Katie is known for. Simple white florals atop a marble slab table marked the altar space, flanked by the venue’s naturally sprawling bougainvillea which seems to eternally bloom. Sweet classical music wafted through the space for the ceremony and reception as the guests danced the night away in the outdoor courtyard under the stars. The bride and groom made their getaway in a horse and carriage after a sparkler send-off, celebrating their first evening united as husband and wife!
