Modern Meets Rustic in Wyoming

We’ve definitely had our share of amazing wedding details grace the pages of SMP but pretty positive this is the first time we’ve encountered a moss stag. It’s one of many modern details crafted by The Writing Horse along with planning by In Any Event and green + ivory florals by Lily And Company that proves rustic Wyoming plays nicely with a little dash of mod. Have a look at every last gorgeous image captured by Carrie Patterson Photography right here in the full gallery.

What was your “perfect wedding” vision?

Zee and I met in Jackson Hole and always discussed how amazing a wedding in Jackson would be. To show the beauty of Jackson Hole to our many friends and family traveling from Georgia, Texas, and many points in between was sure to be incredible. I wanted to be certain to keep things elegant, but simple enough to not distract from the beautiful view.

What are three unique details that you infused into your decor?

My Mother and I did all of the planning ourselves, which is something we both love to do! I try to emulate my Mother when it comes to party planning and layout. She has the most wonderful taste and eye for decoration, and I am so very thankful for all of her help during the planning.

A few unique details that infused our décor are:

The two Ivory Elk and Moose, our Faux Bois Wedding Cake with my parent’s Staffordshire figurine on top, the Aspen Trees and the Moss Placemats and Planters. I also loved our “Antler Place Cards” and our Table Numbers. Our table numbers were labeled on different animals at each table that represented all of the different wild life in Jackson Hole.

What was your most memorable moment?

During dinner, our photographer Carrie pulled Zee and I away for photographs at sunset. We walked across the pond, closer to the mountains and enjoyed our first minute alone all day. Looking back across the pond at the beautiful tent full of the most special people in our lives is a moment I will never forget.

What song did you do your first dance to?

Our first dance: Crazy Love by Van Morrison

Father/Daughter Dance: Isn’t She Lovely by Stevie Wonder

What – if anything – did you DIY?

My Grandmother made the Linens for the Cocktail Tables.

The four large Planters and the shelving behind each bar were built by a friend in Texas.

The shades hanging over our dance floor were custom made just for our wedding.

We had the “Charlie Joseph’s” paper hats made for the servers to wear while passing out late night hot dogs and fries.
