Whimsical Camarillo Ranch Wedding

From the beautiful Bride… Neil grew up in Washington and Liz grew up in Colorado and we both love the outdoors, so we chose a more rustic venue that felt more appropriate for us. We held our reception in a barn and chose BBQ for our food. We met watching football at a friend's apartment, and we have a lot of fun playing in fantasy football leagues together, so we thought it would be fun to incorporate a little bit of that into our ceremony. We're doing a coin toss to determine who says their vows first, and we're using music from Friday Night Lights for our processional.
We also both love watching Jeopardy and going to bars for bar trivia, so we thought about ways to bring a little friendly competition into the wedding. Liz's dad actually had the idea to turn the Parent's Dance into a kind of "Name That Tune" medley where guests will compete to see who can name the most songs/artists that are featured in the dance.
Our favors were one of our favorite parts—Neil's mom made 3 kinds of homemade jam and shipped boxes and boxes of them to us all the way from Washington as she made them. We also have so many creative and talented friends who helped us make our day special and personal. One of our good friends is a graphic designer, so she designed our invites and the jam labels. Another close friend is famous for his baking, so he made 6 different kinds of homemade desserts (all sorts of amazing treats—salted caramel butter bars, mini carrot cake cupcakes, pumpkin bars with white chocolate chips, orange marshmallows) - plus he made our wedding cake and a birthday cake for the Maid of Honor, Liz's sister, since we got married on her birthday!
