From the Bride...On the first day of my new job as accountant I didn’t expect to meet the love of my life. However, fate intervened and seated next to me was a handsome, fun and generous Justin. We shared laughs, stories and dreams and just a few office practical jokes. As time passed, I introduced him to my favourite gourmet foods and love of foreign films and he shared with me his passion for sport and coffee.

Our love for each other truly showed after Justin was injured playing American Football. He suffered a broken ankle amongst other injuries requiring him to be put back together with bolts and screws like the bionic man. My project management skills kicked in as I managed specialist appointments and daily hospital visits bringing Justin his much needed caffeine fix. On the way home from his release from hospital, Justin together with his brother James detoured to the jeweller to chose an engagement ring and soon after a surprise proposal was in the planning.
Fast forward 10 months and we are so excited to share the photos from our wedding day with you.

Our French inspired wedding came about after we first visited Lamont’s Bishops House, Perth, we had dreamed of a wedding abroad in the French countryside however, whilst standing amongst the beautiful gardens surrounding the venue, it dawned upon us, although we couldn’t take all our family and friends to the South of France, we could certainly bring Provence to them!

Our ceremony was held in the very romantic St Michael the Archangel Chapel in West Leederville. We decorated the church with hints of lavender and ivory to represent the breathtaking Lavender fields of Provence and Poppy’s Flowers framed the alter with two urns filled with champagne roses and olive branches which were sourced from the olive trees growing at my family home.

I remember the first steps I took down the aisle, so proud and excited to be wearing my delicate lace sleeved wedding dress designed by Donna Tobin. It fulfilled all my dreams!. Immediately focusing on my groom at the end of the aisle, neither of us could wipe the smile from our faces. After our ceremony we travelled to our reception venue where we would hold our location photos in the surrounds of Lamont’s Bishops House. Whilst we captured a few priceless shots, our guests commenced pre dinner drinks in the rose garden. Our love of cheese inspired our French cheese tasting table for our pre dinner drinks where guests helped themselves to a feast of soft creamy French cheese, glace fruits, homemade preserves and French baguettes under a urn of a beautiful ivory roses and olive branches. Champagne with a dash Chambord was offered to all our guests upon arrival as Les Trios Amies, a string quartet, played music from many French greats such as Edith Pilaf.

One of my most vivid memories of our wedding day is when we first drove up the driveway at Lamont’s Bishops House and caught our first glimpse of the reception. Set under the twinkling canopy of fairy lights, our long tables were covered with taupe cloths and were finished with beautiful urns styled by Poppy’s Flowers with persimmons, hydrangeas, roses and olive. Every French detail, all the Mediterranean styling and weekends of DIY projects had come together. It brought tears to my eyes. I owe many thanks to the wonderful Cathrin D’Entremont for all her help and inspiration. One particular detail that holds a special place in my heart is our wedding cake. Countless hours were devoted by my mum to create our wedding cake which she modelled on our wedding stationary. It was beautifully showcased amongst a floral wreath around the cake table designed by Poppy’s Flowers. It was truly a masterpiece! Since our wedding day, we have had so much fun reading over the vintage French travel postcards which our guests wrote messages on and posted to us at the reception. It is certainly a day we will cherish forever.
