Outdoor Garden Affair full of Classic Touches
In my perfect world, the sun would always be shining and every meal would be enjoyed out in the open air amongst loads of pink florals. Clearly this wedding is on the same page. Photographed in that oh so lovely Sylvie Gil way, with flowers by the Queen Bee of flora, Kathleen Deery Design, and all planned to perfection by Kathy Higgins, this is a garden wedding in its truest, prettiest form.
From the Bride... We picked Meadowbrook Farm because of the sentimental value it holds for us and our families. For the wedding, we wanted to achieve feelings of warmth and love, more than plan to a certain theme or color. Since we were married during the week of Napa’s Wine Crush, we wanted to play off of the aromas and colors of the season. We wanted the decor to be rich but subtle enough to highlight the natural beauty at the property itself. What was most important to us on our wedding day was to show our guests how much they mean to us. We wanted to make every experience throughout the wedding weekend as thoughtful and meaningful for our guests as it was for us. Planning an outdoor wedding in Napa at the front end of Fall, I wanted my bridal fashion to fit the venue, the season and my style. When looking for a gown, I wanted to find one that had movement and dimension in the fabric but was also fitting to my figure. I wanted to look effortlessly chic. The gown I selected was designed by Judd Waddell. Layered with lace and a subtle sweetheart cut at the top, I fell in love with the dress and the mermaid fit on my figure. I have always loved the dimension of a train with a longer veil, so I selected a beautiful lace trimmed veil that complimented my gown designed by Erin Cole Couture. I wore my hair lightly pinned back and curled; I wanted to feel like and look like, me. I wanted my makeup to look fresh and beautiful - a look that would last me through the day and into a night full of dancing. Our first dance song was ‘Love is a Verb’ by John Mayer. The band definitely brought the party and made the night with their upbeat music and performance. Our wedding cake was square in shape with four tiers slightly off-center from the other and each layer’s flavor changing from vanilla raspberry to chocolate Snicker’s Bar. We loved working with all of our vendors – truly, every single one. YOUR BEST ADVICE: Take advantage of all of the opportunities the wedding process provides you to spend time with people you love the most. It’s unlikely you will ever get to share another one day with all of the people you love the most in one place, at one time, so enjoy every minute of it.
