Mount Tamalpais Engagement Session

Hand holding and trekking through a gorgeous sunlit mountain with Josh Gruetzmacher? Sounds like a perfect e-sesh date to me! And when the couple is as cute as these two together, it’s easy to see how head over heels in love they are. You can bet this gallery is overflowing with love.

From the couple, Anna and Jack… Jack and I started dating in high school after meeting through a volunteer study abroad program. We spent our high school years exploring West Marin, driving up to Mt. Tam for sunsets, and watching the stars from Muir Beach, so Marin has always held a special place in our hearts. When Jack told me that we were going on a hike on Mt. Tam over Labor Day weekend I didn’t think anything of it since it’s long been one of our favorite places to hike. Little did I know that Jack had just returned from a secret all-day/all-night drive to LA where he had asked my dad for his permission to marry me. We set out on a hike a few hours before sunset and hiked to a lone tree overlooking Marin and San Francisco. Jack started pointing out places in Marin and reminiscing about how we fell in love there, and before I knew what was happening Jack was down on one knee asking me to marry him. Through shock and tears I of course said “yes!”.

When we reached out to Josh to do our engagement photos, we both agreed that we wanted to revisit our special spot on Mt. Tam for the shoot. We set out on a gorgeous day in January and had such a blast recounting our high school adventures and reliving our engagement memories with Josh. He captured our personalities and love perfectly!
