I’m nominating this one of the loveliest color combos ever. Mint and peach have always been one of our faves here in the SMP offices, but with the addition of bold and beautiful emerald touches? It takes on a whole new level of gorgeousness. Dreamt up by appropriately named, Peaches & Mint Photography and executed by the brilliant team at Rock Paper Scissors Events, it’s more pretty than you can ever imagine.
From Rock Paper Scissors Events… This gorgeous emerald, mint and peach themed shoot at the super romantic Metropolitan Building was dreamed up by Pia at Peaches and Mint Photography. Being an event stylist, I get asked to be involved in a lot of photo shoots, but I say yes to very few as events take up so much of my time. However, when I saw the mood board Pia had put together and the location she had secured for the shoot, my answer was a quick yes!
Pia dreamed up a soft, feminine romantic shoot with a strong color story, and I sourced pieces to layer shades of green, from emerald to a soft grey green to a sweet mint, along with white and peach. The Metropolitan Building is an amazing place to have an event as all of the furniture featured in the shoot is from there, and you are allowed to use several pieces for your wedding!
Pia and I searched antique stores and flea markets for great finds, and Helga Schaefer who oversaw coordination also has a fabulous collection of silver pieces which we blended into the shoot. Sourcing everything was a team effort, much like a DIY wedding where you borrow beautiful items, make things, and scour flea markets for inexpensive finds with tons of character. The fabric layered on the table is a mix of expensive and inexpensive materials with some cheesecloth flowing down the table at $3 a yard, and an emerald silk satin use sparingly at $18 a yard. The coasters on each place setting would be a beautiful favor for each guest, and we found them at Anthropologie, along with a lot of the dinner service that we used.
Again, like real weddings, photo shoots are dictated by vendor availability and budget, and because of a lack of both of those things when it came to finding a florist, I stepped in to do the flowers for the shoot and created the gorgeous loose centerpieces and a natural hand tied bouquet using high quality flowers from the flower market in NYC. Same thing with the cake featured! It was a $40 cake from Whole Foods that we added a couple of flowers to and put on a pretty cake stand, and voila it adds so much to our pretty shoot.
Luckily we had real pros like Stacy Pitt from Styles on B and Nicole Sievers to take care of the hair and make-up, and they created a perfect mood with our model bride. Gabriella New York lent us some amazing dresses and veils that fit perfectly with our romantic vision.
