Back when I was planning my Big Day, I knew a few things for certain. I wanted winter, and a hotel ballroom, and candles high and low to really set the scene. Basically, my vision was this Austin wedding in a nutshell all brought to life by the amazing Verbana Floral and 36th Street Events. It’s everything a classic bride could dream of, and Cory Ryan captured to a T. Happy swooning!
From Cory Ryan Photography… Taylor & Matt’s classic Driskill Hotel wedding was a perfectly elegant winter affair, complimenting the natural beauty of this historic Texas hotel with touches of chocolate brown and gold. The ceremony was held in the stunning Driskill Ballroom, complete with romantic candles across the fireplace mantle and white rose petals lining the aisle. The groomsmen were particularly hilarious with their awesome poses and Wu Tang socks.
We were able to take advantage of the prime downtown location with some colorful urban mural photos, and also find some time for portraits with the truly Texan cow-skin couches and Taylor’s white fur throw. Mercury glass antlers were added to table centerpieces for a fun touch to the array of white flower centerpieces by Verbana Floral (Taylor, Matt and their guests are a TON of fun, as you will see from their dance party photos!).
The wedding band Sauce featured multiple vocalist and a full horn section, and got everyone out on the dance floor for an amazing dance party. And on a sentimental note, we even found time to re-create the bride’s parents’ wedding party photo, which brought a few tears. :) At the end of their reception, Taylor and Matt exited amid a flurry of white rose petals to a horse drawn carriage ride around downtown Austin.
