Monochromatic Newburyport Wedding

Can we just talk about this Sperry Tent for a sec? It's adorned with the prettiest capiz-shell chandeliers (my fave) and all-white details from the chairs and table decor to the beautiful drapery. It's an east-coast wedding dream from Corinna Raznikov that has my heart aflutter. See every fresh detail right here in the gallery and make sure to save time for McElroy Weddings happy film!

From the beautiful Bride… Garrett and I were introduced by mutual friends during our senior year at Syracuse University. Our life after college began in Boston, and four years later, Garrett proposed on Labor Day Weekend at a quaint little inn on Cape Cod. We had a vision of our wedding day and wanted to find the perfect venue to compliment it. We looked at a range of venues and estates in Boston and along the North Shore. After months of searching and unwilling to settle, we realized the best venue was at the tip of our fingers - the estate of Garrett's mother in Newbury, MA. The property would give us the flexibility and control to plan every detail of our wedding. We set the date for two years later on Labor Day Weekend and began communicating with vendors. Time was on our side, but we knew we were going to need it considering we would have to bring every little detail in.

We wanted to create a fresh and modern 'tentscape' with a splash of glamour. We paid close attention to adding elements that would transform a backyard wedding into an intimate and glamorous affair. By incorporating a monochromatic white pallet in all aspects of the wedding, from table settings and florals to bridesmaids dresses and tent décor, we were ableto do this. Capiz chandelier lighting in the white Sperry tent added extra glam, and white sheer tent pole covers created a soft romantic feel. Alternating table settings and linens with three different styles of lush floral arrangements added depth and dimension to the space. Custom made by Sperry, a sleek oak wood flooring added elegance and warmth.

Guests were greeted at the front entrance of the home with champagne and escorted through the foyer to the back patio for cocktail hour. A jazz trio and hand rolled cigars awaited their arrival. The spacious bluestone patio with wet bar and trellised lounge with fireplace offered guests unique atmosphere to begin the celebration. Capers Catering provided variety of seasonal appetizers, such as mini Lobster Rolls, fresh tuna tartare in wonton cones, and feta watermelon mint cups. Dinner also incorporated seasonal produce and included a limóncello intermezzo course to freshen palettes between courses. Beantown band rocked the dance floor making for an unforgettable night.

That evening, when Garrett and I stepped into that backyard, we were amazed at how it had all come together. The soft glow of the tent was complimented by the beautiful landscaping of blush roses and white flowers, creating a wedding venue like no other. We didn't want the evening to end, but thanks to Corinna Raznikov Photography and McElroy Video, we have beautiful images and footage of the day that we will cherish forever.
