Vintage Pink Wedding at a Private Estate

This wedding is all about the playful. Think a mariachi band at cocktail hour or guests munching on popcorn while sipping champagne. That quirky meets vintage style is what sets this wedding apart from the standard gorgeous fare. And behind all those pretty details lies a team of amazing vendors, like Jessica Burke and her stunning images + pink, pink and more pink details by A Shabby Affair and florals to match by Megan Haney Designs. From the Bride… When many people think about weddings, the thoughts are of a day consumed with all things bride and groom but we wanted a different kind of wedding. We wanted our day to showcase, not only our love for each other, but also, our love for those closest to us.

Therefore, when it came to our wedding, there were a few requirements for Gabriel and I. Our perfect day would include a Catholic Ceremony, lots of family and friends, good drinks, great eats and an outdoor space that can be both beautiful and fun. We fell in love with the Tamayo Family Estate for our reception venue almost as quickly as we did with each other. Its simple beauty, large space and gorgeous scenery made it perfect for us. After we chose the estate, we began to build our vision. We wanted a day that reflected who we are. We thought the best way to do this was to create a larger scale reception similar to parties we love to host at home, therefore, a formal, 3-course sit down wedding was out of the question.

We like fun and casual but always allow room for pretty details. To represent our fun and playful side, we had mariachi, games and popcorn to liven up our cocktail hour, menu selections that included our favorite foods, a bar pouring our favorite cocktails and late night taco truck to round out our evening.

To show our love for all things pretty, we chose things that would add to the beautiful estate not take away. We envisioned Vintage chic with pastels, lace and textures. We have known Mary Bonilla with Shabby Events, Megan Haney from Megan Haney Designs, Stephanie and Scott Kendall of Carpe Diem Wine Bar, both personally and professionally for years, so when it came time to select a team to turn our vision into our perfect day, there was no doubt that this would be the group that would make it happen. This amazing group of people did not just take our vision and execute it; they went beyond anything we could have dreamt. When we got engaged, we already know that we wanted Jessica Burke of Jessica Burke Photography to photograph our wedding. Having grown up just a few doors down from her and following her amazing career, I knew that her love for us would capture moments that other photographers would not see. Her warm hearted personality and passion for moments are what helps her produce incredible images that would help us look back at this day time after time. At the end of it all, we could not have asked for anything more. We look back at the photos and the reminder it gives us of our perfect day takes our breath away every time.
