From Color Pop Events and Gilded Lily Events… After one of the coldest and snowiest winters in recent memory, we were looking for some warmer inspiration for this styled bridesmaid’s luncheon, so we landed on a “Desert in the Spring” concept. The shoot was organized as part of The Not Wedding’s April New York City event, so all of the vendors (except the venue) were also Not Wedding participants.

The Dogwood restaurant in Brooklyn hosted the “luncheon” and provided an array of yummy treats as well as a signature cocktail, The Cider Crisp. With the “Desert in the Spring” concept, we wanted the tablescape and decor to feel fun and fresh with beautiful pastel pinks, oranges, and greens, with pops of hot pink and gold. We used flowers such as ranunculus, parrot tulips, lilies, and garden roses to create the centerpieces. As a thank-you gift, each bridesmaid was given a wedding “emergency kit” from the bride in a dip-dyed muslin bag with tags designed and printed by Makr.

We used a woven runner for the table and an array of teal, peach and gold votives to compliment the flowers. Our favorite element was the antlers in the cloche jar – it showed a new, unique way to use antlers in your decor! Our table also featured vintage plates and frosted glassware from Gilded Lily Events’ personal collection. The shoot definitely provided a brief respite for us on a chilly March day and signaled the inevitable transition into spring.
