From the Bride...Our love story began when I purchased a condo and Kevin lived directly above me. From the moment we first met, we instantly clicked and were inseparable. We truly are each other’s biggest fans, so it was only natural to take the next step. Kevin proposed in his condo, by professing how much he loved me and asked me to be his wife - it was an incredibly beautiful moment. Shortly after we were engaged, we made the decision to have an intimate wedding, just he and I. We knew that we also wanted to celebrate with our family and friends, so we opted to have the best of both worlds with a party back home later.
After doing some research we discovered San Francisco City Hall, which is a highly sought after location for an elopement and once we saw the pictures, we completely understood why – it is absolutely breathtaking. Since neither of us has visited San Francisco, we thought it would be a fun adventure to get married on the west coast. Living in Charlotte, NC – we relied on the internet for every single aspect of our wedding. And our wedding day was everything we ever wanted and more.
Our photographers, Christina and Sam Whittaker were amazing. They completely knew how much our family and friends would rely on their photographs to tell the story of our day and they did it flawlessly. We will forever be grateful to them for capturing our special day.
From Christina of Whittaker Portraits...Jess and Kevin’s day was so easy and stress-free, unlike most weddings! They got ready together in their hotel room and had an intimate first look there as well. Then, after some fun Hollywood Glamour photos in the lobby, we caught a cab and headed to City Hall. The architecture is amazing. Beautiful pillars, etched ceilings, and natural light everywhere.
After an a quick but emotional ceremony, they had some celebratory champagne and dessert and then we headed to Union Square for some more photos – we couldn’t believe the Christmas tree was still up on 12/30! Jess explained to us that their elopement didn’t cause animosity with their family and friends. In fact, when the ceremony was finished, Jess and Kevin updated their family and friends with an iPhone picture of them at City Hall! Jess explained it was just more “them” to elope, and that they would have a fun reception at a restaurant after Valentine’s Day.
