Vintage Athens Wedding

Greece weddings are a surefire way to put a little pep in my step. And today m’dears, we’re sharing the beautiful Athens soiree of one of our very own LBB members, Stella & Moscha. Darling Stella, you’re radiant as ever in your custom made Margareth & Moi dress and we’re over the moon thrilled for you! See the whole day captured by Nikos Gogas and don’t miss the film from WedFilms.

From the beautiful Bride… Yes I have organized many weddings around Greece but mainly in the Cycladic Islands. I absolutely love summer weddings but I adore winter weddings. The historical center of Athens holds a special place in our hearts. The energy both Tassos and I feel when we stroll around Plaka and Dionusiou Areopagitou is just so magical and intense; we love all things- ancient Greek. A few years ago I helped coordinate a wedding at Agia Sophia Chapel…and at that moment told myself that if I were to marry then this would be the church. So when Tassos proposed I shared with him this ‘dream’ of mine; we visited the chapel a few weeks later and we both agreed this was the place for us to start as ‘Husband & Wife’.

Athens is a stunning city and having the Parthenon ‘watching over & blessing our wedding’ was a wish come true. We both wanted to avoid having a big ‘etiquette’ wedding with formal dinners and decided to have an intimate celebration with close family and friends. We started with preparations at our parents home. My mother prepared an all white dessert buffet for me and my friends. The ceremony took place during the day under the glorious Greek sun. Following the ceremony we spent two hours with Nikos Gogas and the crew of WedFilms shooting around the alleyways and narrow streets of Plaka whilst our guests where having a casual lunch at the New Acropolis Museum.

We met back with everyone at the Polis Art Café right in the heart of Athens Business District. It was in fact Tasos idea to use Polis Art Café as this marked the start of our relationship- and he was so right. There was lot’s of dancing, feathers and Chocolate! Even our grandmothers stayed with us until 04.00 in the morning – dancing the night away. Everybody loved the signature cocktails by the wonderful team of Bar Etc and the white chocolate cameos. I want to thank Markos Machairopoulos who so kind-heartedly helped bring to life my 50’s influenced themed black & white feathers decor– with the valuable help of Studio 7 Florescence. My dress… what can I say!!! My dear friend Anthony Flamos introduced me to Margareth & Moi (wonderful design duo in Paris) who came up with the design of the dress in just a few weeks. We just exchanged a few emails explaining my ‘dream’ dress and visited Paris twice for my fittings – the most stress free process I could ever imagine! Tassos comment at the end of the wedding night was: this was a dream wedding – exactly as I wanted it to be, which made me really happy!
