Grace Kelly Inspired Styled Shoot at Grant-Humphreys Mansion
Grace Kelly is my style icon. Actually she is my everything icon. I've adored her since I the moment I learned how to adore. So a shoot inspired after the lovely lady herself? Well that is right up my alley. Captured by Lisa O'Dwyer and planned by Pink Diamond Events this gallery is basically my dreamed come true. See it all here.
From Lisa O'Dwyer...This styled shoot with Colorado vendors is based on a Grace Kelly theme. There is a film with Nicole Kidman starring as Grace Kelly which is being released in soon, and we know her look is always influential with classic elegant high-end brides. We love the fairy tale of the beautiful American actress who ends up marrying royalty and becoming a princess! We wanted the style of the shoot to be based on Grace Kelly style and not a literal interpretation. We used 3 dresses from Dora Grace in Fort Collins which all have Old Hollywood or princess style. Her make-up and hair are an interpretation of styles that Grace wore.
We shot this at the historic Grant-Humphreys Mansion in Denver Colorado. It was built in 1905 in a classic Neoclassical style and was a former Governor's mansion. Now, it is the setting for fabulous events and an exclusive wedding venue. We chose it because it looks like a little piece of Monaco or Europe in the American West. It really is splendid!
I love the idea of bringing Grace's wedding to the United States, and the American West. She grew up in Philadelphia which has beautiful classical historic buildings, but I wanted to show Colorado has this too. So many images of weddings an inspiration from Colorado involves sunflowers, burlap, or cowboy boots! And while those things are great, we really wanted to show a different look to Colorado style.
