Farm to Table Inspiration Shoot

Of all the trends we see come and go on SMP, I think I love farm to table the most. And honestly, I hope it’s a trend that never leaves us. This delicious shoot from Rick+Anna Photography is the perfect example of why. With florals from En Fleur Event Design, perfect planning by Maris Events and yummy eats from Cabbage Patch Restaurant – we could eat up this entire gallery.

From Maris EventsThis shoot was inspired by the fact that the venue (Thomas Family Farm) is a working farm, but we brought in playful twists and elegant details. Inspiration came from farmers markets with piles of organic elements: Wood, metal, fruits, vegetables, foliage, herbs, Kinfolk, etc. We wanted to keep the palette neutral with all color coming from the plentiful fruit, vegetable, and floral displays.

We were thrilled with how everything turned out. The head table, provided by Seattle Farm Tables, was the piece de resistance. The dark clean foundation of the barn wood tables with the shine of the copper mugs, crusty baguettes wrapped in paper, and the bounty of organic matter cascading down the center. The simplicity of the ceremony decor was charming: the wood ladders swathed with a green garland and unexpected vegetables and fruits here and there. Bohemian paradise. We brought in some fun paper elements by creating seed packets as favors and wrapped baguettes with name tags as the place cards for each setting.

Through the model’s attire and the rentals (such as the vintage furniture), we brought elements of elegance into the barn – juxtaposed by some of the more playful elements such as the cake table and the brilliant Charcuterie display on the English Market Cart provided by Vintage Ambiance. One of our favorite elements of the Charcuterie cart was the “Cheese Cake” provided by Cabbage Patch Restaurant – the perfect pairing with the gourmet meats and vegetables for the guests.

Throughout this shoot, we really wanted to showcase how you can use local and organic elements to dress up a farm venue into something truly beautiful, unique, and elegant – all while keeping things local and intimate.
