From the beautiful Bride… When my husband Dave & I envisioned our wedding we pictured an outdoor venue with beautiful lighting, great music, amazing food and being surrounded by all our family & friends. Since we are both Italian, traveled to Italy together and love the culture we pictured a rustic Italian inspired wedding. We knew San Diego was the perfect choice since I grew up there, Dave had lived there for 10 years and it is the place we were engaged. Finding an outdoor venue that could accommodate 300 guests was our first challenge. After hours of online research and visiting almost every outdoor venue in San Diego, we found the perfect place at NTC Luce Court in Point Loma. We loved this unique setting because it was an open venue where we were able to bring in our own caterers, design elements and have the ceremony and reception in one location.

We wanted an elegant yet relaxed feel to our day; neutral colors, hanging market lights, tented reception and long farm tables. With the help of my mom (who should have been a wedding planner!) and amazing vendors we were able to create exactly what we wanted. All of our DIY projects were a family collaboration. My mom made hundreds of Italian cookies to set out at each table, found boxes and ribbon to match our rustic theme for the italian almond confetti, hand addressed all our wedding invitations, painted our signature drink signs and decorated a beautiful gift and guest book table. Dave laser etched wooden table numbers and signs to direct guests around the venue. We designed our ceremony program and menus together. For our guest book, I took pictures of Dave & I throughout our lives and made a hard covered iPhoto book that guests signed. We gave copies of the books to our moms as gifts and ours is sitting on our coffee table. All these little moments of planning with my husband and my family, made the day of even more special for us.

The weather in late September was perfect. It was sunny day and a warm fall night. The ceremony wasn’t until 5:00pm so I had a relaxing morning getting ready and spending time with my family and bridesmaids. Once I arrived at the ceremony, I couldn’t believe the day was finally here. As I stepped out of the limo, I was overwhelmed with excitement and love. Then hearing the songs Dave and I spent months picking out was remarkable, I felt like I was in a movie. Our bridal party walked down to Mumford & Sons’ “I Will Wait” and my father walked me down the aisle to Band of Horses’ “I Go To The Barn Because I Like” (one of our favorites). It was a memorable ceremony that set the tone for an incredible night.
