Day After Wedding Brunch at Ojai Valley Inn and Spa
After the engagement, the rehearsal, and the WEDDING of Allyson of Bob Gail Special Events and her beloved Steven, comes this fab send off – a Cinco de Mayo brunch as festive and merry as they come. From the Bride... For our wedding brunch, we wanted to break away from the traditional day-after breakfast and do something a little bit more festive and casual to spend the last day of our wedding weekend with all of our family and friends.
Steven and I have always been big fans of pool parties, and we both LOVE Mexican food.
The day after our wedding fell on Cinco de Mayo, so it felt like the perfect opportunity to host a poolside fiesta at the Ojai Valley Inn!
We wanted the décor to be festive and fun, but not too fussy, so we incorporated a lot of color and some playful patterns and elements like papels picado, piñatas, colorful poppies and serapes to adorn the space, complete with a Mariachi Band to serenade our guests.
The original idea was to have a pool party, but the day ended up to be a bit chilly, so we used our decorative serapes as wraps, and sipped the Inn’s signature Pixie Margaritas, Bloody Marys from a Bloody Mary bar and Micheladas, and noshed on Chilaquiles, Dolce de Leche French Toast, and of course, left-over wedding cake—our perfect remedy for a long night of dancing.
The brunch was so fun and intimate, and we really got to spend time with our guests, and re-live the weekends’ festivities through all of their eyes.
We couldn't think of a more perfect way to end our wedding weekend.
