From 2Chic Events & Design... Ahhh, Amy & Jon… a couple who had me at “The ideal Saturday is one in which the time window between drinking coffee and switching to wine is a small one."  Amy and Jon live on the east coast and I was absolutely thrilled when they hired me to design their Wilson Vineyards wedding. Getting to know them via phone and email was fun, and meeting them in person was such a breath of fresh air. They are sweet, loving, and in total awe of each other. You can literally feel their love when you’re in the room with them. Amy and Jon share a love of music, travel and wine and Amy loves the color purple. After reading their design questionnaires and learning a bit about their taste and personalities, I was immediately drawn to the idea of incorporating music sheets and mixing soft and rich purple hues with the sharpness of black and white. I’m not going to lie, it took some serious persuasion to sell the incorporation of black and white into the design to Amy and Jon. But once they bought in, they really did an amazing job of working with it. Jon’s shoes were a total surprise to me and I LOVE them. Overall, I love the way we were able achieve such a subtle cohesiveness throughout the design without overpowering it with the black and white. A few of my other favorite design elements for this wedding were the paper music hearts that we sprinkled down the aisle in lieu of the traditional petals, the ah-dorable chair backs and table numbers, the escort card display and the amazing dessert bar. Collaborating with my friends at Honey Paperie and Sweet Cakes by Rebecca always seems to be the perfect way to tie the elements together for a finished look. And, as every planner/designer knows, there is NOTHING better than receiving images of your work that capture the details perfectly and truly blow your mind. My breath was taken away by the stunning photography of The Youngrens.
