Spring Bridal Boudoir + WIUP
If you ask me, Fridays afternoons are always cause for celebration. But when they happen to include boudoir goodness from the lens of Lauren Kinsey? Pop the champagne and prepare to swooooon. With shoot styling by Alee Willis and dreamy lingerie designs by Girl With A Serious Dream, this little gallery is pretty with a capital "P" and the very best place to kickstart your weekend. Enjoy!
From Lauren Kinsey... Several months ago, I stumbled upon some gorgeous gowns and robes by Anita, the incredibly talented (and sweet!) designer and owner of A Girl With A Serious Dream. I immediately knew that I wanted to work with her, because her designs are impeccable and so feminine. I reached out, and Anita is just as beautiful and loving on the inside- which really shows in how she designs each piece in her collection. I was so honored when she asked me to photograph all of her new pieces for her Spring line, which I, of course, jumped at the chance.
Alee Willis beautifully styled each piece and crafted the florals for the shoot, and we photographed all afternoon at Maclay Gardens, which is home to thousands of newly budding camellias. The beautiful palette of blush, ivory, and lush greenery proved to be the perfect backdrop for the delicate lace and silk pieces that Anita had designed.
From Anita... The changing of seasons also comes with a change in mood. With warmer days, I can't help but be reminded and inspired by the trip I made to Asia around this time last year. Being surrounded by traditional styles and ancient culture naturally drew me to the direction I wanted to go for my new collection.
The silhouettes for my Spring 2014 collection are inspired by the comfort and easiness of the traditional clothes--especially the kimonos worn in different parts of Asia I visited. I wanted to translate this universally known style into something that could be applied to the wedding world. In many parts of Asia, it's common for people to be dressed in lounge wear all day! I find this truly amazing because for me it's really important to dress comfortably, but at the same time look polished and effortless. Combined with carefully thought and couture techniques, the results are flirty, effortless silhouettes made of the finest and softest laces & silks.
Who wouldn't want to wear something soft & beautiful while getting ready on their day? Brides spend a good portion of their wedding getting ready with their girls; it's the perfect time to share love, smiles and laughs, have fun, and of course be picture ready! When you're wearing something you feel absolutely beautiful in, the images will be sure to reflect happiness, confidence, and style. I have always been a firm believer that the getting ready attire sets the mood before the first step into the dress. It adds that extra dash of personal style, combined with luxury, and can be a little reminder to always add your own personality to your wedding look.
The getting ready attire also acts as an heirloom for such a special and cherished day. Being able to wear a delicate lingerie piece long after the wedding is a small yet lovely reminder of that special day, and will always be in reach when you want to step into something that makes you feel just as wonderful as walking down the aisle.
Now that the days are sunnier, my studio here in Gainesville is filled with natural light! I can't help but feel renewed when I'm creating new handmade items piece-by-piece, with an attention to detail any bride would expect for her special day.
