Modern Gray and Yellow Wedding at Malaparte
Modern Brides, rejoice. You've just landed on a wedding that will inspire you and then some. It's infused with the fresh style and clean lines that will make your heart flutter and make your brain spin with ideas. Mango Studios was behind the lens to capture every perfect detail, and you can see it all right here.
From the Bride…Carey and I met years ago when I used to go out to the nightclub he ran on a weekly basis! I was good friends with his younger sister and we exchanged “hellos” a few times on occasion, but we both were involved in long term relationships.
As “fate” would have it, we ended up single at the same time…. And continued to cross paths on nights out. Long story short, after a few dates and some of my home-cooking, he fell for me! Ha! After 3 years of being together, Carey proposed to me on a Horseback riding trip in Puerto Rico, during a family cruise celebrating his Parent’s 40th wedding anniversary- I of course said yes!
We weren’t sure exactly where we wanted to get married, but we knew for certain it had to be a big party with all our friends and family. After searching high and low all over Toronto, I stumbled on Malaparte at the TIFF Bell Lightbox. I hadn’t seen many weddings at this venue, and it just fit Carey and my “style”. It was modern, had GREAT food, and we had the opportunity to be married among the skyscrapers and condos of Toronto. It just worked! Carey was always a part of the downtown world, and with me being in Real Estate, it was the perfect location to bring our friends and family to see us commit ourselves to each other.
Carey and his groomsmen were decked out head –to-toe in custom suits by “Made” clothing. I wore a Jenny Packham Dress ("Laurel") and the girls all had matching bright yellow dresses from Donna Morgan. The colours we chose, Yellow, white and grey, fit the sunny disposition of the day.
We of course chose one of the busiest weekends of the summer. With NXNE and Luminato happening at the same time as our wedding, the city was buzzing! Thanks to Jane Dayus-Hinch who MC’d our wedding, Décor & More who did the OUTSTANDING décor, Tal Dallal (Flower Import Group) who provided all our flowers, Daniel Kosub who played acoustic guitar during the ceremony/ cocktail house and a special thank you to our friend Megan Wappel who put together all of our exquisite Stationary and small detail. Music for the night was provided by all our friends who are DJs including Jimi Chestnutt, Erick Bouaziz, and Sean Miller, which just made it all the more personal. Finally a thank you to our photographers, Mango Studios, who captured the moments throughout the day better than anyone could have… the photos take us back to the best day of our lives, literally.
The ceremony was a reflection of both our backgrounds and religions, and the celebration was one that we will never forget. All that we could ask of more from that weekend, would be to go back and relive the day as a guest at our own wedding! It was perfect- it was everything we could have ever imagined it could have been and then some!
