There’s not a question that Hawaii is pretty fabulous all on its own. But paired with the modern beach stylings of Maui’s Angels + Dellables, it takes on a whole new meaning of destination wedding. Our inspiration for this shoot was to create a whimsical, romantic and delightfully vintage, Hawaiian themed event. We think this style will work for any bride that is willing to think outside the box, looking to create a soft, modern day Hawaiian feel for her destination wedding.
According to Hawaiian wedding tradition, the groom would wait on a secluded beach for his bride to arrive in a canoe. When she arrived, the groom would escort her to the ceremony and at it’s conclusion, the couple would ride off together in the canoe!
Some of the unique details that you’ll find in this shoot include a custom made driftwood arch made by Dellables just for this shoot. Hanging mother of pearl/capiz wind chimes over the hammock, and a vintage hand sewn dress.
The location used is the Lahaina Oceanfront Estate which is a true slice of heaven here on Maui!
