If you are in the throws of planning a gorgeous Southern affair, then this shoot photographed by Jess Hunter with design and styling by Martha McIntosh is so up your alley. It pairs eclectic pieces with gorgeous blooms and a beautiful charm that Southern weddings seem to have in abundance. And even if you’re wedding doesn’t have Southern roots, you’re sure to find a little something to love here.
I currently live in Washington state, but grew up in Georgia. This time during my visit home I knew I wanted to put together some inspiration for a Southern wedding-something that would resonate with Southern brides yet have a little different feel to it. This is how this shoot was born. I wanted it to have gorgeous, yet unique florals, along with eclectic elements that you wouldn’t see all the time in the South, while also allowing some traditional Southern elements to shine through. At the same time, I wanted it to be outdoors to have an organic and rustic feel, and the gorgeous farm venue definitely lent those two things which paired great with the elegant and eclectic elements. Southern Vintage helped tremendously with finding the perfect pieces for the shoot-down to a very specific array of tableware-each place setting was different along with the glasses, and chairs. Everything was mismatched-but in a complimentary way to provide visual interest and to keep the eclectic feel. Also, Martha Macintosh decorated one of Southern Vintage’s wagon wheels with greenery which makes a great ceremony or even reception decor piece. The ceremony seating was to die for-a perfect timeless, eclectic blend of old wooden chairs and stately upholstered pieces provides a refreshing option from the same old ceremony seating.
