Romantic Art Inspired Wedding Shoot

I love when art inspires weddings. Art inspires fashion all the time, but rarely do we hear about a particular artist’s impact on a couple’s wedding style. But this shoot – inspired by Gustav Klimt – is proof that art can translate into weddings in a way that feels beautiful and utterly unique. Designed by Beau Tied Events with photographs by Sarah McKenzie, there is even more here in the galleries.

From Beau Tied Events… I’ve always been a fan of Gustav Klimt’s paintings–warm, romantic, whimsical–exactly the kind of emotion I want to evoke when designing weddings for my clients. I thought of the idea to use Klimt’s paintings as inspiration for my next shoot–utilizing his love of mixing warm hues like golds, reds, and auburn with mixed textiles and patterns. When I mentioned the idea to Sarah McKenzie, she jumped at the idea, and together we got other vendors on board. Rent Some Vintage provided the perfect eclectic boho pieces for the shoot. BHLDN lent us some flawy, whimsical dresses from their new collection, which Adorne Artistry then completed the goddess transformation through their amazing hair and makeup application. Tamara Menges Designs nailed the florals– sprinkling red anemones throughout the day, while Rachel Nieman provided the perfect stationery to compliment the theme. This styled shoot was used as a learning tool for attendee’s of the Develop Retreat for Photographers.
