From Allison at Studio 28 Photo... We were so excited to shoot Natalie and Charlie's wedding. They are such an amazing couple and so in love we knew their day would be beautiful. It was a day full of love, laughter and serious style. This wedding really stood out in the pops of color, hints of gold and overall effortless chic it exuded. From live plants for the cake backdrop, to the glittery gold yum sign we we're delighted to capture such a fabulous day for two very wonderful people in love!
From Natalie the Bride... Choosing our venue was easy. It was actually the first place we looked. I love the town of Rancho Santa Fe. It is exactly how I think of old Spanish style California. The hotel has such a rich history so I knew it was the perfect setting to hold the wedding of my dreams.
I would consider my style in general to be very eclectic so to pin point specific design inspiration is difficult. I am mostly inspired by places I have lived and traveled. Walking down the streets of New York City or vintage shopping in Palm Beach is the ultimate inspirational experience. And with a family full of interior designers I have been surrounded by great furniture, fabrics, and patterns my whole life. For instance, all of the paper goods were inspired by the famous Martinique palm wallpaper famously known for draping the halls of the Beverly Hills Hotel. The gold accents came from my 4 year career working for Jonathan Adler. He loves a pop of old Hollywood glam and gold is a great way to integrate that mid-century look. I kept the flowers simple, I wanted all white and kept them uniform within each vessel. This gave the wedding more of a modern feel. The palms became a nice pop of green that helped tie everything together.
My dress was a combination of two designers. The corset top was Monique Lhuillier and the skirt was Oscar de la Renta. The bow on the back of skirt made it feel like an art piece. I loved the structure and adored the fact that I was able to mix the 2 different designers and the 2 different fabrics.
