Romantic Vintage Wedding

Sure, this wedding is a crazy gorgeous day set against a stunning Sunstone Winery setting, but it's also sooo much more than that.  It's charming DIY details lovingly crafted by a beautiful bride, soft pastels + lace filling every inch of space and one moment after another that will literally fill your heart with so much joy, you won't know what to do with yourselves.  See it all captured by Erin Leigh right here.

From the Bride... Our wedding at beautiful Sunstone Villa and Winery was filled with many DIY projects that I got from many sources, including the SMP blog. My beautiful Save the Date vintage hankies I sent out came from an SMP blog post where a bride shared how she did hers. Everyone raved about how beautiful and unique our Save the Date was...so thank you for the fabulous idea. The entire wedding was filled with vintage details. Vintage chandeliers hung from oak trees for the ceremony, vintage suitcases were filled with vintage postcards for our guestbook, the antique crystal vases that my Mom found at antique stores for the center pieces, vintage sofas rented for the cigar bar, vintage key place cards that I made myself, vintage lace that I wrapped around candles, more vintage hankies used on place settings, vintage style frames used for table numbers that I put together, vintage photos of classic cars taken by the groom strung by the cigar bar, vintage family photos of our parents and grandparents on their wedding day and finally my vintage wedding rings which were found at the local antique store in Solvang (both my engagement ring and wedding band were bought at Solvang Antiques in town on separate trips to Solvang). It seemed meant to be that we have our wedding here. We spent so much time picking out every detail and it is so fun to now look and see it all so beautifully captured in these photos.

We had 67 of our dearest friends and family join us for a gorgeous weekend in Santa Ynez, CA. Our location was Sunstone Villa and Winery, which as you can see from the photos is a photographers dream. I really felt that our photographer, Erin, not only captured the beauty of Sunstone, but the happiness and love that surrounded us completely that weekend. I think that is the beauty of having a smaller, intimate destination wedding like we had - you really have those that are closest and dearest to you there to celebrate your special day and it makes the experience that much more magical. I have so many amazing memories and moments that were captured in these photos. The most touching moments involved my brother, Peter, who has Down's Syndrome. We danced to "God Only Knows" from the Beach Boys- as that is one of his favorite bands. There wasn't a dry eye at Sunstone, including mine. Peter is my heart and it was such a special moment for both of us. It was even more touching to look over and see my new husband with tears in his eyes looking on with such love. He also gave an amazing speech, which again got all the tears flowing. It was so beautiful and from the heart.
