I’m convinced it doesn’t get any better than a blush colored Monique Lhuillier. Or a series of the sweetest kisses photographed by Elizabeth Messina. Or anything and everything floral that Mindy Rice crafts. Or church pews by Found Vintage Rentals decorating the ceremony. Or perfectly planned moments by Imagine Weddings And Special Events. This Santa Barbara affair is one of those lucky celebrations that has it all; plus a series of images that you could literally get lost in for hours.
Sarah and Joe, a stylish couple living in New York City, selected Santa Barbara as the destination for their wedding to be celebrated over Labor Day Weekend. The planning began a year prior to the date with Imagine…Weddings overseeing all of the glorious and meticulous details that were to evolve for this celebration.
They hosted multiple events throughout the weekend. Two welcome parties were planned beginning the evening at San Ysidro Ranch in their Wine Cellar with immediate family and close friends followed by a second party ocean side at the private beach cabana club, the Coral Casino which is managed by the Four Seasons. Guests were welcomed by incredible food stations, specialty drinks and the infamous Santa Barbara sunset. The ceremony took place in the Mariposa Garden at the Four Seasons Resort followed by their reception on the El Mar Terrace and in the El Mar dancing to James Gang from West Coast Music. A post ceremony brunch was held in the gardens of the Four Seasons Resort.
Design was important to Sarah and her mother as they both have a background in that area. I feel so fortunate that Mindy Rice Design collaborated with us on the décor and inspiration for the weekend. She created a tailored bohemian look working with a palette of dusty hues, French filigree urns and lush open garden blooms. The environment was elegant yet relaxed and organic in feel. She had custom pillows and table runners made from Fortuny fabric. We complemented the tables with beautiful custom letter press menus made by Ceci New York. We brought in live Agonis trees that were uplit.
Sarah wore a gorgeous blush Monique Lhuillier wedding dress and later changed into a Jenny Packham reception dress. She accessorized her wedding dress with Valentino shoes. Elizabeth Messina captured every lovely detail with the artistic beauty that she is so well known for. She weaves magic with her photographs and I always say seeing her photos is like reading a romance novel. You can’t help, but to fall in love. I simply adore her!
