Emerald Green Wedding at William Aiken House

Every wedding has its “thing.” You know – that one special detail that sort of steals the show. And for this William Aiken House beauty, it came in the form of an emerald green color palette. It’s the force that drives the design of this Southern love affair, and you can see every stunning bloom by Ooh! Events plus ah-mazing captures from the lens of Virgil Bunao sitting pretty right here.

When walking into the William Aiken House, guests were greeted with a specialty cocktail and asked to take their photo in the vintage inspired photo booth with ornate gold frames as the backdrop in the pergola. Guests grabbed their escort card from a vintage card catalog provided by the bride. Upstairs, the dinner tables were full of lush ranunculus, dahlias, and dusty millers in various shades of blush and ivory. A vanity mirror listed the table number and a thank you card from the bride and groom welcomed each guest to their seat.

To utilize the metallic elements on the tablescape, we used gold silverware from Polished Tabletop Rentals to create a romantic feel. The bride and groom’s chairs were marked with a beautiful ivory fabric which was braided through the chair and cascaded down to the floor below. With Emily being from Florida, their wedding just so happened to also fall on biggest game of the season for this Florida Gators fan – the Georgia game. We had one of our assistant coordinators update the score in order to let guests know via chalkboard! This encouraged guests to stay off their phones and focus on the beautiful couple!

We had a custom moss monogram hanging in the carriage house lot along with custom lighting to match their invitation. Being the 2013 Pantone color of the year, emerald green was incorporated through the bridesmaid’s dresses, custom fabric pieces and table linens. The emerald green was the perfect accompaniment to the soft color palette. For a classic look, the bride selected white tufted leather couches and antique gold end tables. The event was truly classic and elegant. After a night of dancing under the stars, the bride and groom were wished farewell with sparklers and the bride donned a fur stole.
