From the Coordinator and Photographer… Heather and Michael are such a beautiful couple and their outdoor wedding was a perfect reflection of the life they’ve created together.
I (John) first met Heather and Michael on an overcast and rainy day in April for their engagement session. After the session was over, I could tell that they were going to be one of my favorite couples to work with… and they were.
Heather wanted to combine the rustic farm setting with touches of elegance all while achieving a balance of masculinity and femininity. And they have an adorable son, Cannon, so it was very important that he was included as a special part of the day.
We started with a soft color palette, which was the perfect juxtaposition against the masculine barn and outdoor surroundings. Crystal chandeliers were hung in the barn and in the trees, the centerpieces included fragrant vines of honeysuckle and jasmine, the bouquets were full of creamy whites and dusty rose, and the wedding party dressed in tones of ivory and tan.
Heather and Michael love hunting and the outdoors, so to incorporate more personal touches, we used antlers from their own collection on the tables. Guests wrote their well wishes on tags and then hung them on mounted antlers we curated inside the barn. But, the hit of the night had to be the homemade moonshine favors that they made and packaged themselves! We even displayed them on vintage ammo crates.
I loved working with this family…It was an honor to have been a part of their sweet and beautiful day!
