It’s not every day that you see a wedding this romantic. A wedding sooo drenched in awe-inspiring details, it’s like Jane Austen crafted every last detail herself. From the lush blooms from Floressence to the gorgeous images captured by Josh Goleman of The Wedding Artists Collective to the breathtaking Lonesome Valley setting, it’s a non-stop day of heartwarming moments and l.o.v.e. See it all here.
From the Bride… Our wedding weekend was the best three days of our lives. It was so magical and beyond what we ever expected. We wanted our wedding to be about the love we share for each other and the love and appreciation we feel for our family and friends, so Andrew and I decided to get married close to his parents’ home in the mountains of North Carolina for its quiet beauty and small town charm. We imagined our friends and family on vacation together – a summer camp for adults – filled with lots of fun activities and celebrations. Andrew’s parents were thrilled and helped with what they do best, making everyone feel at home and comfortable.
Every detail was important to us, but we also find beauty in imperfection. We were very open to inspiration found all around us, and we were never afraid to break rules. It was important for the wedding to feel intimate and warm and full of love, so everything was special and handmade from the stationery that we designed with my brother and his girlfriend to the vintage stamps used on invitations to the welcome bags and everything in between. Andrew and I also wanted to be sure we had a team working with us that understood our vision and with whom we could trust to build on our ideas. We got so lucky and found the most amazing, creative florist, planner, photographers, musicians and caterers – we were always on the same page.
Lonesome Valley is gorgeous, so we kept the decor simple and elegant to enhance the natural beauty of the region. A little bohemia, a little French country, a little rock n roll, lots of candlelight…
In the end, everything was perfect. It was our greatest joy to finally get married after being in love for over nine years with all of our friends and family surrounding us. We were careful to enjoy every single moment. We laughed, we cried, we didn’t take anything too seriously, we ate delicious food and danced like crazy – and it was over way sooner than we ever wanted it to be. But we have the most incredible memories to look back upon – and really beautiful photographs and videos.
