I’ve been to many weddings in my day, but I have to say, backyard weddings totally steal my heart. They are intimate, heartfelt and filled with darling details that never fail to fill me with happiness. Take this beauty from Lisa Rigby Photography for example, it’s practically perfect in every way, and you can see even more right here.
From the Bride…With our families living so far apart (London and Boston) we wanted to create a really intimate and personal atmosphere where everyone could come together and just have a really fun evening. One way we did this was by including some small, subtle details that would represent different aspects of us both. The sailcloth tent by Sperry Tents spoke to the grooms love of sailing, while the homemade strawberry jam guest favors were a nod to the bride’s love of crafts and baking. With both of us working in environmental fields, we wanted the event to have minimal impact by choosing vendors with similar values. Season to Taste, who catered the event and specializes in locally sourced food, served a delicious vegetarian/pescatarian dinner. Our wedding planner/floral decorator, Whim Events, perfectly captured the feeling of a garden party with delicate flowers and lots of tiny tea lights. To top it all off, Darlingside, a local band who are really growing in the Boston music scene, collaborated with the bride’s brother and sister to play a surprise cover of the bride’s favorite song, setting the tone for an evening of wild dancing.
