Elegant Terminal City Club Wedding
I've always believed that pink and gold were meant for each other. Just take this Hycroft Manor affair, for example. It pairs these two hues in perfect fashion, with gorgeous blooms from Sunflower Florist and elegant stylings by Fleur De Lis Events. One Love Studio snapped every lovely moment, and it's sitting pretty right over here!
From the Bride... My new husband and I are medical residents with demanding work lives. We were so overwhelmed with wedding planning that we about to cancel the whole thing, but Nargess and her team at Fleur de Lis Events came to the rescue! She certainly had her work cut out for her: we met (via Skype) 5 months before our wedding date, we were living out of town and would only be back in Vancouver 1 week before the wedding, had very limited time to chat regularly, and were working on a students’ budget. We hired Nargess for Full Planning. During our first meeting on Skype, I was struck by her bubbly energy, creative vision and reassuring demeanor (important for an anxious bride).
Throughout the planning process, were consistently impressed with Nargess’ flexibility, professionalism and thoughtful creativity. She was quick to respond and considerate regarding our erratic schedules. She managed our budget responsibly and we came in on target despite adding 30 extra guests in the end! Her coordination allowed us to participate in just the fun, stress-free parts of planning. Her excellent rapport with her vendor contacts meant we had stunning flowers, beautiful decor and excellent service at a price we could afford. She listened carefully to our ideas for the wedding, enthusiastically researched all options, and added her creative flourishes to design a cohesive “look” for our wedding day.
On our wedding, Nargess and her team ensured that we enjoyed the day with our family and friends; none of us needed to worry about the little details because she discreetly took care of them. She even went above and beyond what was expected: bought the bridal party Starbucks in the morning, handmade lovely (and unexpected!) props for decor, took it upon herself to organize a reception photobooth, and surprised us with a pretty candy buffet in the end. Nargess, thank you SO MUCH for making our day romantic, fun and exactly what we wanted. We absolutely could not have done it without you.
From the Planner... With Karina's overall theme of pink, and blush, we created an intimate day full of romantic details. In honour of Karina's background and family tradition, we hosted a Chinese Tea Pouring ceremony which was ever so well received by the brides' family and other guests.
The wedding ceremony took place at the historic Hycroft Manor, in the heart of downtown Vancouver. The reception was held at the landmark Terminal City Club.
The bride and her father (who is a professional ballroom dancer), performed a truly magnificent dance apres dinner. Guests feasted on 6 course meal, follow by a savoury dessert bar. Vanilla macarons with strawberry filling perfectly wrapped up in the clear box with a monogramed ribbon were given to each guest as thank you (favour).
My personal highlight: Karina & Brandons reaction to the surprise photobooth we set up for them! It was a truly a magical day full of love, laughter, and in good company.
