Classic NYC Engagement Session

New York is magic and about as perfect as you can get for an engagement backdrop. For this couple, who has a love of fashion and this magical city that they call home, it proved to be a winning combo. One decorated with a pretty spring dress, the steps of the iconic New York Public Library and a few kisses all captured by Robert And Kathleen Photographers. See even more right here.

From Elena, the Bride… Erick and I really didn’t know what to expect for our engagement session but we knew we wanted it to show our personalities. We choose a few locations which we love and knew would come out beautiful in pictures. We instantly clicked with our photographers and felt so comfortable. Our photo shoot lasted a few hours and we went from Battery Park then to Fifth Avenue and took amazing pictures by the New York Public Library and ended in downtown Soho area.

We wanted a very natural, photojournalistic and romantic story and our photographers couldn’t have done a better job. When I was deciding on what to wear I wanted it to fit my personalty. I wanted to have a feminine, girlie, airy, fresh very Audrey Hepburn look. I wore a floral print Monique Lhuillier dress with Valentino shoes, Hermes Bangle and Van Cleef necklace. Working in fashion ( Ralph Lauren Corporation) I realize the importance of picking the right outfit for special occasions. You have to make sure color fit and style will come out well in pictures.

Erick wore a Canali Jacket, Billy Reid pants, Paul Smith shirt, Paul Smith shoes and Paul Smith socks ( I guess you can tell who his favorite designer is !! ), Tiffany cuff links and Jaeger Lecoultre watch. Erick is such a perfectionist when it comes to making decisions. He is so detailed oriented and won’t settle for less. He is such a thoughtful, loving and kind hearted man. I truly found my other half, best friend and soul mate-Erick completes me in ever single way.

The engagement session was so important to us because were able to connect with our photographers before the wedding day. We knew what to expect for our wedding day and our photographers got to know us and our personalities, and knew what we wanted out of our pictures and our style, likes and dislikes. After the wedding is over the most important thing you have to help you relive your fair tale day are your pictures and video so picking our photographer was a huge part of the planning process – Erick and I were very pleased with our choice…we couldn’t be happier.
