This is an inspiration shoot that marries Winter and Spring for a beautiful take on the March wedding. With design and styling by Goldfinch Events & Design, blooms and floral crowns galore by Mum’s Flowers and imagery by Hope Kauffman Photography, this shoot is out to prove that snow and Spring touches are a mighty fine combo. I have always loved the old saying, “If March comes in like a lion, it will go out like a lamb.” By this time in northern Montana, we are growing weary of winter storms and are grasping for any hope of Spring. Because winter lasts SO LONG up here in the freezing North I wanted to do a shoot that was inspired by winter textures {fur and ice} but with hints of spring {lamb’s wool and pretty pastel blooms}. I feel like this shoot really optimizes that transfer from Winter to Spring that our Northern states always feel in March (and it just happened to be a full on blizzard the day we shot).
We did a series of 3 different head pieces, each one reflecting a different stage of March. The first, all dark ferns and burgundy color pallet. The second, we paired with a winter table setting with hints of emerald and gold. The third, a bright tropical piece with gloriosa orchids and protea.
It was such a pleasure working with Hope Kauffman of Hope Kauffman Photography. Her eye for high fashion and all the little details brought extra life to this shoot. I am so proud of our model (photographer Tyler Brown) who braved the blizzard and freezing temps for the shoot!
