Dunsborough, Western Australia Engagement
Ben Yew is talented to say the very least. His images are like works of art, and the couples that get to stand in front of his talented lens are lucky to say the least. Because they will end up with images as gorgeous as these below, and it doesn't get better than that. See even more here.
From the Bride to be...Nick and I first met on a night out in the city (Perth), I was celebrating my going away party as I was just off to start a new adventure and move to Melbourne to live with my brother. As soon as I saw him I felt compelled to talk to him, I soon found out he was 18 and I was 20, after a few text messages and dates I moved away 2 weeks later. We kept in contact for the 9 months I was away and I even came home to visit him, the feeling between us was electric. 2 weeks after I moved back we started dating. We brought our first house, but I still had the travel bug and we packed up and moved to Canada to live and work at a ski resort. We now shared a passion for travelling and adventure, Nick had never seen snow before, however I have previously worked at the ski fields in Victoria. We had the time of our life snowboarding all over Canada (Nick became an amazing snowboarder), and driving across America in our minivan. Since settling back down in Australia we weren’t too keen to fall into a boring routine so chasing another adventure we moved to a remote closed mining town of 150 in the amazing world heritage area of Shark Bay. We still share a passion for travelling and snowboarding and it has taken us all over the world. Im so glad we were at that same place at the same time as our love is stronger than ever. I couldn’t imagine things any differently.
We chose the Dunsborough region as we would always head down for the weekend when we were based in Perth, we are having our wedding in the area and love the food and wine and relaxed atmosphere. The scenery is amazing and we hope to build our family home there also.
I chose Ben Yew Photography as I love the way he captures natural light and the special moments between couples. I didn’t want our photos to be edited to look like something were not, Ben’s natural style really reflects our personality. We love the way he is able to capture a picture of a genuine moment, we were laughing so much during the shoot and the photos are a so genuine and raw. The pictures are so romantic and fresh we are so elated with how they turned out, and now we have these amazing pictures forever.
I chose my dress (Forever New) as I thought it looked very bridal, I liked that it was white and would really stand out against the bush settings. It’s very classic and has a very girly feel to it, it’s something that I felt would look good in the photos for years to come.
Our wedding will be held in February in the Dunsborough region, our ceremony is outdoors under a Bali style pavilion with ancient peppermint trees at the Yallingup Studio Art Gallery, with a very whimsical and romantic feel. Our reception is at a local winery called Palmer Wines, we have had some amazing meals and wine here so it seemed the perfect choice. The restaurant opens up to a beautiful deck and grass area , we are having a dance floor set up on the grass and festoon lights above with outdoor couches to create a relaxed and comfortable feel.
