If you are ready to say goodbye to winter, you might be singing a different tune after cozying up with this cabin celebration brought to us by Momental Designs. This, my dears, is why I love winter. Warm fires, delicious food, and some fabulous people enjoying each others company (and perhaps a few bottles of wine), this gallery captured by Morrissey Photo is everything that is good about the cold season.
From Kristy of Momental Designs…This is our Momental team winter celebration inspired by this off the beaten path cabin in the woods. Watercolor + wood + sequins were our design muse throughout. Our invitations were presented in hand built wooden slide top boxes made from curly maple and cherry woods. The lid was watercolored in shades of celery, teal, violet and indigo before the hand rubbed finish was perfected.
The table was set with bamboo flatware and dishes and included cut glass wine goblets and vintage Noritake china featuring a warm landscape scene. The handmade watercolor paper garland was seen throughout; backs of chairs and on the mantle. Fiftyflowers.com provided us with an eclectic winter mix of blooms to include; Scabiosa pods, White Amaryllis, Dusty Miller, Hanging Amaranthus and Silver Brunia. We used a combination of Roseville Pottery and Daher Tins for arranging
Tieks gifted each Momental Girl a pair of Tieks so of course we had to hand painted each box with impressionistic winter scenes in sepia and white, which looked amazing against the aqua boxes! Menus and place cards featured similar tree artwork elements as the main invitation, all in silver foil. We crafted sweet flatware pockets from the menu design to place at each seat, and I loved the mix of seats from rustic old kitchen chairs and a pine log bench to floral upholstered cane-back and rocking chairs.
Our menu: Cheese and fruit feast with honey and compotes / spinach salad with butternut, cranberries, walnuts, blue cheese crumbles and sherry vinaigrette/warm ciabatta bread and bread sticks / roasted chicken with brie,apricots and almonds / cornmeal crusted polenta with spinach and boursin / grilled vegetable stacks / bread pudding station – Raisin Cinnamon, Pumpkin and Bourbon Peacan seved with sauces – creme anglaise and salted caramel / gourmet s’mores station – a selection of crazy candy bars and fruity marshmallows served with chile powder.
